cv-so joe we havent seen you in nys motocross in a while now what have you been up to lately?
jm-living down here in north carolina now doing some riding and training its good.
cv-ahh cool cool its deffentaly better to do it down there then here in the - 30 degree cold...so take us through last year how was your season and all?
jm-haha yea man its nice to ride year round now. last year in 2010 was not bad. i rode 250 and 450C got some top 3s, didnt really race a lot but i did try to ride as often as i could at savannah or frozen or at my house track.
cv-for shure the last time i remeber seeing you..we were on the line in april in 450c at savannah and i got lunged into you and i know you had a gnarly crash so on my behlaf im glad i didnt take you out of the season but it was scary!
jm-yea man that was crazy haha i dont remeber a lot of it just trying to get up wasent as bad as it looked dislocated my pinky thats all. gotta love them novice class starts
cv-yeah novice is crazy for shure but we all go thought it..but i have to aagree and you have to agree savannah is deffinatly a GREAT track to ride at you cant beat the sand there
jm-yea dude savannah is my home town track and its awesome just hold it wide open just a killer on ur air filter and clutch cables and clutches haha. i would like to come up to new york a little this summer to ride there and some other upstate tracks
cv-so you deffintaly plan on coming back up then? that was acctuly my next question ha
jm-yea gotta see how things go with money and everything but i would like to ride and train hard down here with ben westcott and some local pros down here and hopefully make a smooth transition into the B class. haha hopefully anyway the plan is to get some 250 2 strokes lol
cv-there a handfull..so thats your overall plan in 2011 is to move to the b class what else you got up your sleave?
jm-oh yea i love 2 strokes... 4 strokes are just a pain money wise ya no. and yea i mean i want to move up and be a contender so hopefully training hard will help and riding every weekenbd and week like i am now. we have been all over from alabama to florida so its nice to get to ride with completly different riders
cv-so with that said compaierd to cny here how would you say that new york rated with the south and you can be honest becuse i think most people already know the answer to this becuse the south and so cal obviously set the standard that everyone follows..look at rc, k dub, js7, ect
jm-well its hard to say kind of. because there are some really sick tracks and facilities down here but i dont no if its because im from ny but id say new york has some of the best tracks and if you could ride year round in new york i think it would be the other way around
cv-thats good to hear...well joe it sounds liek you have a solid pogram for next year....is there anyone you want to thank and give a shout out to here in nys?
jm-yea thanks man hopefully it all works out. yea my mom and dad i mean i love them and they get me everything i need for this and everything i need to just be a young kid doin his thing. the Westcott family also for everything and kaitlyn colquhoun she has always helped me from day 1. oh yea everyone who races from ny you guys are great
cv-well we will lookforward to seeing some guess aperances from you guys back here in ny...thansk for your time man and if you wnt to give any updates feel free to get on flmx and post on yr interview!
